Sketching a Giant: My Tokyo Gundam Encounter

On my recent sketching adventure through Japan, one sight truly stood out: the colossal Gundam statue in Tokyo. As a fan of Japanese Manga / Anime art, I knew I had to capture this iconic landmark in my sketchbook.

The sheer scale of the Gundam is breathtaking. Trying to translate that sense of awe onto paper was a challenge, but a rewarding one. I spent while observing the intricate details, from the powerful stance to the complex mechanical features. The energy of the surrounding crowds, all gazing up in wonder, added to the electric atmosphere.
